Pfaff Motorsports pulling double duty at Lime Rock and Honda Indy Toronto
July 14, 2022
Lakeville, CT. (July 14, 2022) – After a home-track victory at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Pfaff Motorsports returns to IMSA action this weekend at Lime Rock Park. Also known as the “Bull Ring,” Lime Rock hosts the seventh round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship – and the first GT-only event of the season with entries solely from the GTD Pro and GTD classes.
In addition to its IMSA program, Pfaff Motorsports is also entered at this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto event in the FEL Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin. Zachary Vanier will contest Races 5 and 6 on the Toronto street course after competing at the Calabogie Spring Classic last month.
This will be the first split weekend for Pfaff Motorsports since its inception, balancing the No. 9 Driveway Porsche 911 GT3 R and Vanier’s No. 9 Technica Mining McLaren 570S GT4. Both cars currently lead their respective class championships, with the GT3 R ahead by more than 100 points in the WeatherTech Championship GTD Pro fight, and the 570S GT4 leading the way in SCCC by 10 points.
Lime Rock’s 1.474-mile layout will be a shift from previous IMSA rounds in technicality and length, but brings back fond memories for Pfaff Motorsports, as the team won its first WeatherTech Championship race at Lime Rock in 2019. The team also finished fourth in 2021 in the GTD class.
For the drivers of the GT3 R, this will be Matt Campbell’s first visit to Lime Rock since 2019, while Mathieu Jaminet finished third in the GTLM class last year in a Porsche 911 RSR. At Indy Toronto, Vanier will be a newcomer to the Canadian classic.
The FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. ET. The race will be streamed live, flag-to-flag on Peacock TV, with delayed television coverage on USA Network beginning at 5 p.m. REV.tv and IMSA.tv will broadcast live for Canadian viewers. The team will also be taking part at the Millerton Fast Fest this Thursday with the Driveway Porsche on display and drivers participating in a forum and autograph session.
More information about FEL Motorsports at Honda Indy Toronto can be found here, with the two races scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET and Sunday at 12:35 p.m. ET.

Team Quotes:
Matt Campbell: “I’m really looking forward to Lime Rock, it should suit our car well. It’s short, tight and twisty and it’ll also be the first event of the year for us in GTD Pro where it will only be GTD cars, so a bit of a change. Traffic management will be a little bit easier, but still quite difficult being such a tight and technical circuit. After the last couple races, we’ve been really strong with a couple podiums, so hopefully we can continue that way.”
Mathieu Jaminet: “We are in strong form coming from two wins and three podiums out of the last three races. We have great momentum right now coming from Mosport for the team. We should be confident and we are ready to fight again at Lime Rock. The track is really particular, it’s really small. It could be interesting in the race with traffic and you could fall a lap down very easily when you pit. Strategy will play a big role and it will be an interesting race. I think the Porsche has always been competitive out there. Hopefully we can repeat again, have a good result and score a podium for the team.”
Zachary Vanier: “I’m very excited to get this weekend’s event at Honda Indy Toronto started, as it’s the biggest and most anticipated event on the calendar. It’ll be my first time competing at the event, however, Antonio (De Sanctis) and the team have done a great job to organize the proper files that have allowed me to get comfortable with the track virtually on my simulator at home. Street circuits are always challenging, but I’ll be looking to optimize Friday’s practice session to ensure the balance of the car is where I’ll need it to be going into Saturday morning’s qualifying session, as track position will be important all weekend. Thank you to all my partners for making this season happen, and I wish the rest of the team all the best at Lime Rock this weekend.”
